HOW TO NOT WEAR A JACKET

postcard_106

During the recent fashion weeks, I have noticed that a lot of fashionistas are using their jackets as a cape, and it looks amazing. Looking through different streetstyle pics from the recent fashion weeks, women are skipping the sleeves of their jacket and letting the jacket drape on their shoulders. But notice that this trend can be a bit risky and in some cases not practical. Why? Well, it´s a challenge to made sure that the jacket stays on your shoulders. Any minute,  you can drop the jacket on the ground. But don´it worry, here is some tips on how you can pull this trend of.

Shoulder Span: To make sure that the jacket stays on you shoulder, buy a jacket with a wide and well structured shoulder span. The shoulder span will make the jacket easier to stay on you shoulder.

Clutch it: if you want to pull this trend of, leave your tote bag at home and instead, bring your clutch. Remember that you´re not wearing the sleeves of your jacket, the strap of the tote bag will become a huge problem. For this trend, the accessories becomes very important!

Proportions: When wearing jacket as a cape, it can overwhelm your shape. To avoid this, wear a slim fitted style on the bottom and it will give you a clean line and proportion. The second layer (underneath the jacket) should be thick to avoid being cold, nobody looks cool when they´re cold.

So now, you have all the tolls and knowledge to pull this trend of ;)

WOMEN IN HAT

postcard_100

Lately I have started to appreciate hats and notice how chic hats really are. During Copenhagen Fashion Week, I had some time to kill and ofcourse I stroll around Copenhagen´s shopping streets. I manage to find a brown hat and from that on, I started to realize hats magic force! Hats looks great with almost all off my outfits, specially during this time of year when the sunshine sometimes peeking out from winter’s gray sky. My advice is to buy a hat asap and combine it with a minimalist and clean jacket.

- Anna Dello Russo

postcard-2

Anna Dello Russo (ADR) describes herself as a “passionate fashionista” and that is the best way to describe one of worlds biggest and most well known woman in the fashion industry. The Italian “fashion maniac” was born in Bari, south of Italy and after graduating in Italian Literature and Art History at the University of Bar, ADR start to working for magazines like Vogue Nippon, Condé Nast Italia and Vogie Italia. Today ADR works as the editor- at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan.

Why I adore ADR?

ADR is famous for taking looks straight from the latest runway to the streets and she´s never afraid to dress exactly as she feels like. I love how Anna plays around with different styles and at the age of 50, she has never looked more beautiful. I worship the combination of styles Anna dares to combine and guess what? She looks amazing in everything! One of my biggest dreams is to work side by side with this gorgeous lady.

It was hard to find favorites looks at Anna, but here is some of ADR´s inspiring outfits.

I know, it was a while ago I last blogged, but I promise I will do my very best to find time to blog more often. Lately I have been really busy with both Uni and Spex. I guess it´s the first time most of you guys have heard the word “spex”. Well, spex is amateur comedy theatre that is directed and performed by University students around Sweden. Universities like Lund, Uppsala and Gothenburg  are known for having long traditions of spex. During late October I joined one of Lund Universities best spex groups called Lundaspexarna and my job was to sew clothes for the actors. I have taken some pics and will blog about it later on. As you guys have noticed, for a while ago, I changed my blog and joined the blog community Devoted. se but after a while, I decided to move back here. It just feel so good having my own domain!!

I have to rush now, uni is calling!! But here is some pics of amazing details. For the moment, I´m longing for Copenhagen Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. Here is some detail inspiration , cool right?

ALL YOU NEED IS:

1.5 yards of waxed linen cord

50 – 70 size 8/o seed beads

a 10-13mm two hole button

Scissors

 STEP 1

1. Cut the waxed linen cord into a 26″ and 19″ piece. Fold the longer strand in half. Align one end of the shorter strand with both ends of the longer strand. Fold the excess over the top of the folded piece creating two parallel loops.

STEP 2

2. Tie a knot about half an inch down from the loops. Snip off the extra fourth strand, leaving 3 equal strands of equal length.

 STEP 3

 3. Start braiding the strands. After about an inch or so, braid in the beads. Thread a bead onto the outer left strand.

STEP 4

4. Push the bead against the base of the braid, and cross the left strand over the middle. Now thread another bead onto the outer right strand. Push it to the base of the braid and crossover.

 STEP 5

5. Keep a finger at the base of the braid, holding the beads in their place and keeping the braid tight. Continue threading on beads before each strand is crossed over.

 STEP 6

6. Finish the bracelet with another inch of braided cord, measuring it against the wrist. Tie a knot.

STEP 7

7. Thread on a two hole button – two strands through one hole and one strand through another. Secure it with another knot.

STEP 8

8. Trim the end.

STEP 9- FINISH

9. Your bracelet is finished! Try using different colored waxed linen and beads.
