Fashion illustrations are incredible beautiful and breathtaking. I´m amazed and fascinated that so little drawing can be so sightly. I came across David Downton and fall in love with his fashion illustrations. But who is David?

David Downton is originally born and raised in Kent, England.  After studied  BA hons illustration/graphics during 1979-1981 at Wolverhampton David moved to Brighton and started his illustration career.  During 12 years, David worked with a wide variety of projects, from advertising to illustrating fiction, cook books and, occasionally, fashion. In 1996, the Financial Times asked David to draw an illustration for the couture shows and since then David has become famous as a fashion illustrator. David had worked with  Tiffany & Co, Bloomingdales, Barney’s, Harrods, Top Shop, Chanel, Dior, L’Oreal, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine and the V&A Museum.  During 1998, David started to work on  a project where he draw of some of the world’s most beautiful women, including Erin O’Connor, Paloma Picasso, Catherine Deneuve, Linda Evangelista, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Iman and Dita Von Teese.

Giambattista Valli is an amazing designer and this couture collection is absolutely breathtaking. Giambattista Valli was thinking of “two parts of a garden—a flower garden and a nymphaea,” when designing this collection and he reflect his vision perfectly. The butterfly details and prints on the dresses, hairdo and the nets (over the lips) is beautiful and very fairytale like. Here is some of my favourite dresses. |
